CARECEN

CARECEN offers legal, educational, housing, citizenship and civic participation programs to the Central American/Latino community. Grant funds will be used to build the organization’s membership capacity.

Community Bridges

Community Bridges provides multicultural empowerment and leadership programs for young, at-risk girls in the Silver Spring, Maryland, community.  Grant funds will be used to develop a three-year strategic plan.
 
Escuela Bolivia

Escuela Bolivia provides academic, linguistic, and cultural education to improve the lives of children and their families in the Latino community.  Grant funds will be used to hire the organization’s first part-time staff person.

GALA Hispanic Theatre

GALA Hispanic Theatre preserves and promotes Latino arts and culture, sharing the rich Hispanic heritage with a wide audience through professional theater productions and a diverse range of performing arts programs.  Grant funds will be used to build fundraising, marketing, and human resources capacity.

Grace Ministries

Grace Ministries provides job training and emergency funding, food, and supplies to improve the quality of life of low-income immigrants in Northern Virginia.  Grant funds will be used to hire new staff to support the organization’s large base of volunteers.

The In Series

The In Series offers a unique and eclectic blend of theater, opera, cabaret, poetry, performance art, chamber music, and Latino arts programming at affordable prices.  Grant funds will be used to develop a marketing plan and expand institutional partnerships.

Latino Economic Development Corporation (LEDC)

Latino Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) improves the wealth-building capacity of low- and moderate-income Latino communities by strengthening small businesses, supporting homeownership, advocating for affordable housing, and revitalizing neighborhoods.  Grant funds will be used to develop a social enterprise that will both promote the organization’s mission and provide a new sustainable income source. 

Latino Federation of Greater Washington

Latino Federation of Greater Washington is a federation of Latino nonprofit agencies that promotes understanding of and action on important issues facing Latinos in the Washington metropolitan region.  Grant funds will be used to build fundraising capacity and to strengthen the organization’s board of directors.

Young Playwrights' Theater provides interactive in-school and after-school programs and collaborative projects to empower students to creatively express themselves and engage the world around them through the art of playwriting.
